Open option

Introduction

If you have an idea for a Churchill Fellowship that you are not sure fits within one of our current programmes listed, then our Open Option could be for you.

A Fellowship funds you to spend 4-8 weeks meeting and learning from leading innovators in your field around the world in order to share and implement that learning in the UK.

More information is below and you can sign up for application alerts by email here.

Applications are open from 4 September to 12 November 2024.

Please share information about Fellowships by sharing and downloading this pdf.

As part of the open option, Talia Kensit (CF 2023) explored community-led responses to teenage relationship abuse. Download 'Fellow — Talia Kensit 2023'

We know there are passionate individuals with great ideas that may not now fit into a specific programme we currently have open for applications. We are keen to hear these ideas too so we have an Open Option in addition to our focused programmes.

This is available to UK citizens over the age of 18 who have a passion for their field, drive to learn from overseas, and a clear vision of how their project can make a positive impact in the UK as long as they fit our general criteria.

Applications for our Open Option follow the same process as our focused programmes. You will need to outline your project, its objectives, and the impact you hope to achieve. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate how their learning from around the world will be applied to create real-world change in the UK.

When you submit your application, we will ask you to self-select whether your project topic aligns with the themes of Governance and public provision’ or ‘Health and wellbeing’ or if it falls outside of these.

This is because when it comes to the interview stage, we want to make sure you have the panel members most relevant to your topic reviewing your work. And historically, we have noticed that most applications that come through the Open option tend to fall into one of these two themes.

Please note, it will not affect the success of your application in any way.

If you have any questions, please do get in touch.
