Application timeline - The Churchill Fellowship

Application timeline

We open for Fellowship applications once a year. The timeline for the current application process is as follows:

Applications open on Tuesday 1 September 2026 at 9.30am.

Applications close on Tuesday 20 October 2026 at midday. We encourage you to submit your application ahead of the deadline, so you have plenty of time to review everything before you send it. Late applications will not be considered.

All applicants will be told whether they have been longlisted or not by email.

Longlisted applicants will be told whether they have been shortlisted or not by email.

If you are shortlisted, you will be asked to submit a shortlist form. Your referees will also be contacted at this stage.

Interviews for shortlisted applicants take place in April and May. These can be held in person in London or online.

Each programme has its own day of interviews, and dates will be published in advance so you can plan ahead. These dates cannot be changed.

Shortlisted applicants will be told whether they have been awarded a Churchill Fellowship or not by email. (This will be confidential until the public announcement day.)

The new Churchill Fellows are publicly announced.

All new Fellows will be invited to our ‘Connect and Inspire’ networking event in July.

New Fellows can begin their overseas learning from 1 August 2027.
