Biography
I am a UK-based textile designer producing research and graphic development for branding, print, jacquard, knit and embroidery across luxury brands, womenswear and menswear.
I was awarded my Churchill Fellowship in 2017 and travelled to Japan and Australia to further research hand-print techniques and sustainable print practices.
As global industry 'looks local' as one of the ways of sustainably creating textiles, the Fellowship gave me the time and mobility to see how Japanese craftsmen have continued traditions of using local natural and synthetic resources to process fabrics. Within Australia, water shortages mean there are textile practitioners finding systems and solutions to create printed textiles.
Since my Fellowship, I have forged new network links between my clients and craftsmen further afield. I have also integrated the learning into my day-to-day professional practice and delivered numerous talks to higher education students around the UK.
The Fellowship broadened my skills, knowledge and network. It is a monumental chapter in my professional career and I feel very privileged to have been given the support.
