Supporting disabled people to take up high-level positions in organisations through leadership programmes

I'm an equity and inclusion consultant who specialises in organisational change through research and training. I'm based in Edinburgh but I'm originally from London.
Taking an intersectional approach to my work, I am particularly interested in accountability and how we build structures which support it. I have extensive experience in civil society organisations in the UK and Europe and it is this that inspired my Fellowship.
As a disabled woman I believe that diversity and lived experience are assets to organisations, yet there are very few leaders in the not-for-profit sector who are openly disabled and, at the same time, many younger and newly disabled people experience barriers in progressing.
My Fellowship sought to explore what could be done to make leadership more inclusive. Since completing my Fellowship, I have been working with funders and leading infrastructure organisations to develop programmes and practice which support lived experience leadership. My Fellowship has opened doors for me and given me a platform to support the third sector to become more equitable for others.
