Interventions for armed forces veterans with multiple and complex needs
Supporting armed service veterans with resettlement and support services to return to civilian life
2011
North East
Following my Fellowship in 2011, I established multi-award winning veteran support charities Forward Assist and Salute Her. During the Fellowship I travelled to the USA to compare and contrast services available to disenfranchised veterans struggling to adjust to civilian life after military service. As an early service leaver (ESL), I have first-hand knowledge of how difficult it is for many former servicemen and women to re-establish themselves into the civilian community after discharge from the armed forces.
I am particularly supportive of those veterans that have survived military sexual trauma (MST) and now suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or other difficulties relating to adjustment and assimilation.
As a qualified and registered social worker, former probation officer and Home Office adviser, I have vast experience of working with veterans with multiple complex needs. My life is led by commitment and compassion, and is dedicated to the service of others.
