Biography

I am a television producer with 15 years' experience making unique and visually compelling stories for British and international television.

My Fellowship in 2006 focused on documenting the development of the Qinghai Tibet plateau, following the construction of the first railway between China and Tibet. It is a really beautiful and fascinating place and one I am very grateful to have seen at this point in history.

Having previously taught in a tourism school in China, we arranged for a student to do the Fellowship with me – a vital step in helping me to travel freely and understand things from a Chinese perspective, while also furthering the reach and dissemination of information on the Fellowship. Together, we made a non-broadcast radio documentary about our experience during the Fellowship.

Professionally, the Fellowship helped establish me as a documentary-maker with unique links and experience in China – from making a series on the Beijing Olympics in 2008, to one exploring recent Chinese history to online shorts about international friendship. I make other documentaries too, and would love to speak to other Fellows interested in sharing their work this way.
