Biography
I am the Director of Public Health with NHS Orkney in Scotland. I am passionate about remote and rural health and ensuring accessible health care which meets local needs.
I was awarded my Fellowship, titled Rural Voices – Enhancing local Democracy in Health Care, in 2019. I am keen to learn from other countries how public and professional advice shapes local health care and services, with the aim of using this knowledge to influence local and national policy.
I visited Madeira and the Azores before Covid-19 interrupted my Fellowship, and I plan to visit the Faroe Islands, and islands in Finland and Sweden to complete my studies.
