Biography
I have two roles - Business Director at People Powered Retrofit and Retrofit Lead at Carbon Co-op. My Fellowship explores citizen and community involvement in the energy transition with a particular focus on the concept of energy justice.
I will visit and speak to groups in the USA and Canada that are addressing this subject and take learning and inspiration from their work. I will share that insight with groups in the UK and help policymakers to design and implement new approaches that tackle energy justice.
I have worked throughout my career to find new ways of involving citizens in tackling climate change and to give communities a stake in owning and controlling the clean energy transition. I am from Teesside, a formerly strong industrial area that has suffered the impact of pollution and underinvestment and which is now seeking to take a key role in the transition. I am interested in learning what can help Teesside and other areas.
