Since completing my Fellowship I have left full-time employment, after 40 years spent working in nature conservation. I continue to utilise the skills gained during my Fellowship within the voluntary sector.
I am a Trustee of the Langdyke Countryside Trust, a voluntary, community-based, charitable incorporated organisation working to make a difference to the environmental and cultural heritage of 'John Clare Country', the historic landscape between Peterborough and Stamford. The trust manages a number of nature reserves in the district and has initiated the adoption of nature recovery plans by parishes throughout the area. As chair of their conservation committee, I continue to seek ways to develop sustainable levels of public access and engagement, whilst protecting and conserving the valuable wildlife resource.
