I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. I am the lead psychologist working with older people and also people with long-term conditions in east Berkshire. I also have an interest in working with the homeless and am Chair of Maidenhead Men in Sheds. I was redeployed during the pandemic to wellbeing services and ran groups for frontline staff but have now returned to normal duties.
My Churchill Fellowship (2018) focused on transdiagnostic cognitive behavioural therapy (tCBT) approaches to helping people with long-term conditions. I established a service for people with long-term conditions in east Berkshire who were housebound and visited services using tCBT in New York, Houston, San Diego, San Francisco and Tampa, and also presented at each service and at the American Psychological Association conference. In addition to conference presentations in the UK (Faculty of the Psychology of Older People, Primary Care Respiratory Society, Health Education England), we have had four papers published about our work and the Fellowship was invaluable in creating contacts and developing the service.
We are currently working on digital exclusion and adapting to working remotely.
