As a military veteran I have had a lifetime interest in the welfare and general wellbeing of fellow veterans and their families. I therefore undertook a study of veteran support in the USA and Chile, and gained a wide range of ideas and initiatives which can be applied here in the UK. It is pleasing to see that there have been many positive developments at national and local level since my Fellowship.
Since my return I have been the CEO of the Army Flying Museum. I also continued my Presidency of 656 Squadron Association, which represents the interests of serving and former members of the squadron (which has a near continuous operational record since its formation in 1942). It is now an Apache Attack Helicopter Squadron based in Suffolk.
The Fellowship gave me an invaluable insight into veteran support in the USA, where there is near universal support for the military and the veteran community, and in Chile where there are similar levels of support. I continue to champion and advance veteran issues, mainly at local level.
