In my current role as Associate Director of Innovation, I manage a portfolio of research and supplier-led innovation projects with clients including Rolls-Royce, Airbus and the NHS. I have also taught supply chain management, innovation and entrepreneurship across several higher education institutions. Furthermore, I am a published author in the domains of innovation, social mobility and widening access to higher education. I have a PhD in innovation.
All of this experience has led to my Fellowship which is focused on international approaches to supply chain reshoring and diversity within procurement. The purpose of this research is to understand how different national economies (Japan and Spain) have tackled supply chain voids using different policy and practical approaches which could be applied locally and internationally to transform public and private procurement.
This is of personal interest to me as the regional reshoring of suppliers offers socio-economic benefits to the areas that I live and work in, and driving innovation into tired and non-meritocratic systems is something that we need to change for a better society.
