Highlighting the impact of the Activate Fund
Launched as a pilot, the Activate Fund supports Churchill Fellows to turn their research into practical action and create meaningful impact in communities across the UK. From business incubators to cancer support programmes, David Morgan, Anna Wardley, and Ceinwen Giles are just a few of the Fellows using Activate funding to bring their ideas to life.
David Morgan used his Fellowship to explore reoffending prevention in the USA. With Activate funding, he set up a business incubator supporting people in prison and on probation in Greater Manchester.
Anna Wardley drew on her own bereavement to research suicide prevention for children. Her Activate-funded social enterprise trained professionals to better support young people affected by suicide.
Ceinwen Giles, diagnosed with cancer in her twenties, used her Fellowship to research global support models. With an Activate grant, she co-designed a six-week online programme for adults with cancer.
We're launching a £10m Appeal to fund the Activate Programme – empowering Fellows to turn their ideas into action. Find out how you can support and be part of the future of the Fellowship.
