July 2026 Fellows' update: Judith Vickress
Judith Vickress (CF 2023) was featured in Policing Insight following the publication of her Churchill Fellowship research into violence against women, girls and children in rural communities.
Drawing on learning from Australia, she argues that the UK's Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) model should be replaced by Victoria's Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) framework, which better connects local services with specialist expertise and is more suited to the realities of rural communities. She says this would help create more coordinated, effective responses to domestic abuse in rural areas.
