Kathy Hall continues to build on her Churchill Fellowship by promoting Chinese opera in the UK. In May, she supported performances by visiting Kunqu Opera artist Chen Rui at three public institutions, reprising a scene from The Peony Pavilion. In July, she took part in a Peking Opera singing session in Wimbledon, performing with top amateur singers and accompanied by renowned spike fiddle player Mr Wan Jiahuan – her first time returning to the role in over a decade.
Kathy describes this work as part of the 'extended life' of her Fellowship and a continuing commitment to sharing Chinese opera in the UK.
