Biography

I currently work as a places project manager in a Net Zero Hub, working with local authorities across the UK to develop investment strategies that unlock finance for their net zero programmes. The focus of my Fellowship is understanding how regional government can sustainably finance climate change mitigation. Sustainability squared!

I will travel to Canada, which is about five years ahead in this space, to learn how the national government has improved its capabilities, how local municipalities have developed their portfolios, how effectively funds have been spent, and how net-zero financing programmes have been governed.

I have experienced the challenges the public sector faces in effectively responding to the Climate Emergency as an officer in a local authority. I have worked passionately over the last two years on researching approaches to asset bundling, engaging with investors, and stacking finance with three mayoral authorities. This project will provide international use cases for knowledge products, best practices to enhance peer learning activities, recommendations for the community of practice of providers, and precedents to support codesigning solutions with investors.
