I am a paediatric doctor at Oxford University Hospitals, with a particular interest in paediatric oncology and palliative care. I first became interested in palliative care for teenagers and young adults when working in paediatric oncology and subsequently joined a national special interest group for healthcare professionals working in this field.
The purpose of my Fellowship is to research how medical teams in Canada and Australia are delivering excellence in palliative care and use this research to improve treatment for teenagers and young adults in the UK. My particular areas of interest are in the education of doctors in training and the use of digital resources for advanced care planning by healthcare professionals and patients. As a result of my Fellowship I hope to develop a teaching programme on this topic and a website and app for advanced care planning for teenagers and young adults with palliative diagnoses.
