I am a non-fiction photographer known for research-driven photo stories and portraiture. My personal work considers the interplay of environment and culture, tracing global events through daily lives. For my Churchill Fellowship, I travelled to the Tibetan highlands to document the role of indigenous beliefs in conservation of the Sanjiangyuan Nature Reserve at the source of the Yellow, Yangtze and Mekong rivers.
Most recently I have brought to light the Church Forests of Ethiopia, a landscape scale phenomenon that shows the vital connection between Christian theology and environmental stewardship. The story and photographs have been published widely, including in Nature, National Geographic online and across Europe in Geo magazines, as well as being exhibited in LA, New York and London. My work is represented by Panos Pictures, London.
