Biography
I am a Policy Manager at World Vision UK, where I advocate for children's rights in UK aid and development. I am a passionate defender of children's rights, particularly the right to participate in decisions that affect their lives.
My Fellowship looks at universal school meals programmes and seeks to understand how they can support a whole ecosystem of positive outcomes for children, schools and communities. My research will take me to Brazil and Finland, two global leaders in delivering and championing universal school meals. I am particularly interested to learn about the regional adaptations that are made across the national school meals programme, the links between school meals and local food systems, and the role of school meals in the school day and culture.
I believe that every child has the right to a nutritious daily meal in a place of education. I want to learn about the feasibility of universal models and how economies of scale can be utilised for greater cost efficiency and impact. I hope that this research will contribute to the growing debate around universal school meals in the UK.
