Intergenerational child and elder: supporting improved outcomes for communities

I joined the schools-based children's mental health charity Place2Be as the Director for Scotland in August 2020, following a decade at the national children and young people's charity, Children in Scotland where I worked with colleagues and partners to develop a range of programmes to support improved practice and policy outcomes for children and young people.
In 2019, I received a Churchill Fellowship and conducted research on intergenerational co-located care in the USA, Singapore and Japan, considering an assets-based approach that could tackle some of the challenges experienced by children and young people living in poverty, as well as improving health and wellbeing outcomes for children and older people. I am currently working in my community to spread the learning from my Fellowship experience.
