Challenging inequality in marginalised communities through a diversity, equity and inclusion framework

I am the Director of Impact and Influence at BBC Children in Need and the Founder of the DEI Coalition, which is a group of grant-making foundations interested in implementing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) frameworks in their funding. My Fellowship is focused on studying the practice of foundations in the USA who have adopted DEI frameworks as a means of tackling inequality and promoting social justice.
I am really interested in this area as funders hold a lot of power, influence and wealth through their funding decisions and I want to research how we can use these assets to tackle the root causes of inequality in all its forms. I am particularly keen to learn about systemic change in relation to poverty and the marginalisation of different communities.
