Biography
I am a pharmacist with over 25 years of experience working in the National Health Service (NHS). I have a long-standing passion and commitment to equity, inclusion and workforce well-being in healthcare.
My Fellowship focuses on addressing racism within the pharmacy profession, an issue that can negatively impact staff morale, retention and, ultimately, patient care. As the Founder of the UK Black Pharmacist Association and a former President of the Pharmacists’ Defence Association (PDA) Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Network, I have seen first-hand how racial inequalities impact the physical and mental health of the pharmacy workforce.
My motivation comes from both personal experience and years of supporting others who feel unheard or marginalised. I will visit the USA and Australia to learn how other countries are addressing racism in pharmacy, specifically looking at policies, support systems and cultural change initiatives. I hope to bring back practical solutions that can improve inclusion and help build a fairer, more sustainable pharmacy workforce in the UK.
