Biography

I'm a dementia researcher working at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Sciences, University of Oxford. My research involves using technology to support older people and people affected by dementia. I am currently working on a project about how AI could be used to help people living with dementia manage their medication.

I will be visiting Japan to meet with world-leading experts in robotics, VR and smart home technology to learn about advances in assistive dementia technology. To meet the needs of one of the world's fastest ageing populations, Japan has already been implementing creative uses of technology in dementia care. I hope to explore what has worked, what hasn't worked and future directions in the field, and bring back strategies that could improve dementia care in the UK.
