Annual theme: children and young people in care

Annual theme: children and young people in care

Introduction

In 2022 we will open for Fellowship applications that aim to improve the lives and outcomes of children and young people with experience of care. This includes children in care, those on the edge of care, adoptees and care-leavers. We also welcome applications that aim to increase support for caregivers and for families affected by care issues.

We welcome applications from anyone who has contact with young people in care. We are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience of care themselves, as well as foster carers, kinship carers and adopters. We’re also very keen to hear from researchers, educators, social workers and those in the health, charity, justice and education sectors.

Fellows in this theme form part of a dedicated community specialising in this area, with tailored opportunities for support and networking in this field.

This annual theme is offered in partnership with The Hadley Trust. It is guided by our Children in Care Working Group of Fellows and other experts in this field.
